Uses
Culinary uses – baking, candy making
Benefits
- The number of chemical ingredients used to make the artificial strawberry flavor in a fast food strawberry shake, for example, is similar, chemically to the number of chemicals in a fresh strawberry.
Cautions
- The chemical concoction consists of 50 different chemical ingredients, many of which could be threatening to your health. Is this really the way to go, as opposed to using real strawberry-derived compounds?
Processed foods, and even many foods pushed as ‘wholesome’ oftentimes contain this synthetic strawberry flavor (among many others). Opting to save money in blatant disregard for public health, the highly complex chemical formulas consist of a long list of substances including amyl acetate, benzyl isobutyrate, and phenethyl alcohol. And this is but one ‘flavoring’ used in the food supply.
Interactions
- None are known. Please consult your nutritionist.
