Uses
Agrostis gigantea, commonly known as black bent and redtop, is a species of grass widely used as pasture grass until the 1940s when soybeans and other grasses replaced it. Redtop is also used medicinally to treat allergy symptoms.
Benefits
Pollen is extracted from the redtop and used in the manufacture of homeopathic allergy relief tablets. When ingested, the pollen excites the body’s allergic reaction systems, which then works to relieve all allergy symptoms.
Cautions
Stop and consult a doctor if allergy symptoms don’t improve in 5 days and/or if new symptoms appear, if you suffer from asthma and severe mold or other allergies, if you have heart disease or high blood pressure.
Other names
Redtop, black bent
