Uses
Aminomethyl propanol is used in the production of various skin and hair care products including creams, lotions, hair dyes, facial products, and hairsprays as a pH adjuster.
Benefits
Aminomethyl propanol is able to form a salt when reacted with mineral acids. Soaps can be made out of these salts and used in a number of cosmetic and noncosmetic products.
Cautions
Aminomethyl propanol is safe at 7% concentration or less. Aminomethyl propanol may cause minimal skin irritation. Aminomethyl propanol should not be used in combination with nitrosating agents.
