Silymarin (sil·ē·märˑ·n)

  • noun: a type of flavonoid extract of milk thistle (Silybum marianum) seeds. Extracts are used to protect the liver from environmental toxins, hepatitis ,and cirrhosis, the major constituent of which is silibinins A and B.
